About Me
Hello! My name is Nina Jayashankar and I am a New York based actress of Indian descent. Originally from San Jose, CA, I began my training in classical voice, acting, and Jazz and Bollywood dance. I attended Northwestern University where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Mathematics with a certificate in Musical Theatre.
Some of my favorite theatre credits include Lions and Tigers (TimeLine Theatre), Sohni Mahiwal (The Blank Theatre), and The Bachelor Parody Musical (Apollo Theatre). I have also begun my on-camera work with industrials through Mc Donald’s and Guy Bauer.
When I’m not auditioning, rehearsing, or performing, I work as the Grants and Partnerships Associate with ReThink Media where I get to use my passion for creating equity by working to provide communication strategies to progressive non-profits. In my spare time, you can probably find me cooking, reading, or playing piano or ukulele.
