Shakuntala at The Goodman Theatre

Nina had the opportunity to narrate for the live virtual reading of Lavina Jadwani’s original play with music: Shakuntala over at The Goodman Theatre. Directed by Sophiyaa Nayar, the play tells the story of a nymph Shakuntala who is celebrating her new marriage to the king when a sage places a spell on her beloved so that he forgets his wife’s face. Inspired by Kalidasa’s 4th-century drama, this Bollywood infused play can be streamed here.
